Fields Mapping

Everything you need to know about how to sync data between  monday.com  and Mailchimp.

What is Field Mapping?

Field mapping is how data moves between  monday.com  and Mailchimp—it connects specific fields from one platform to the right fields in the other. This makes sure things like contact name, email, status, and custom fields (merge tags) sync correctly. Setting up field mapping properly keeps your data accurate, automates your workflow, and ensures everything ends up exactly how you want it.

Can I Map Anything to Anything?

Not quite—but that’s just how the systems work!
Each  monday.com  column is designed to hold a specific type of data. For example:
  • Numbers can only store numbers, not text.
  • Email can only store email address, not numbers.
It’s the same with Mailchimp:
  • Dates must be mapped to date fields.
  • Contacts need valid email addresses.
So, mapping only works when the data types match— therefore we can only support mapping columns that have a matching data type and it makes sense.

Important Notes

  • The integration supports one-way synchronization: changes in  monday.com  can be reflected in Mailchimp, but not vice versa.
  • Proper field mapping is essential for accurate information transfer between  monday.com  and Mailchimp.
  • Certain fields in Mailchimp have a certain format. Value in any other format will not be added to the cell. Make sure to verify that. - You can see what it is in “Audience” -> “Settings “ -> “Audience Fields and Merge Tags”.
  • Carefully consider your field mapping to ensure all necessary information is transferred accurately between the platforms.

However - Sometimes mistake happen and maybe we got a field wrong or forgot about something. If you feel that's the case, please let us know at  hello@fantasymedia.io .
