Common Issues & Resolution

While using the monday.com-Mailchimp integration, you may encounter some common issues. This guide will help you understand and resolve these problems.

Automation is Successful, But Contact Wasn't Created

No Valid Email Address
  • Issue: A Mailchimp contact must have a valid email address.
  • Possible Causes:
  • The item in  monday.com  doesn't have an email address.
  • The email field wasn't properly mapped in the automation setup.
  • Resolution: Ensure that the  monday.com  item contains a valid email address and that it's correctly mapped in the automation settings.

Mailchimp Required Fields

  • Issue: Some Mailchimp audiences have required fields beyond just the email address (based on the specific audience settings).
  • Possible Causes:
  • The  monday.com  item doesn't have all the required fields for the Mailchimp audience.
  • The required fields were not properly mapped in the automation setup.
  • Resolution: Check your Mailchimp audience for required fields. Ensure all required fields are present in your  monday.com  item and correctly mapped in the automation.

Not All Data Came Through

Different Data Formats
  • Issue: monday and Mailchimp use different formats for certain types of data.
  • Resolution:
  • Check the data format in Mailchimp by going to "Audience" -> "Settings" -> "Audience Fields and Merge Tags".
  • Ensure that the data in  monday.com  matches the expected format in Mailchimp.
  • You may need to adjust your data in  monday.com  or use a formula column to transform the data into the correct format before sending it to Mailchimp.

Unable to Map Certain Columns

Mismatched Column Types
  • Issue: Each column in Mailchimp and < monday.com > has a specific data type. You can only map between columns with matching data types.
  • Resolution:
  • Refer to Part 3: Understanding  Field Mapping  in this guide for a table showing which Mailchimp fields can be mapped to which  monday.com  columns.
  • If you need to map between columns with different data types, consider using a formula column in  monday.com  to transform the data into a compatible format.
