Everything you need to know about setting up your automation and understanding its basic behaviour & logic.
The Mailchimp Integration Plus app offers two primary automation types:
Create a monday.com item/subitem based on a Mailchimp contact. Create a Mailchimp contact based on a monday.com item/subitem.
- These automations are triggered by events within monday.com and result in actions performed in Mailchimp.
- Example: When a status changes, create a new contact in Mailchimp.
- These automations are initiated by events in Mailchimp and trigger actions in monday.com .
- Example: When a contact is subscribed, create a new item/subitem in this group/item.
- The integration supports one-way synchronization - changes in monday.com can be reflected in Mailchimp and update a contact, but not vice versa.
- During automation setup, you'll need to map fields between monday.com and Mailchimp to determine how information is shared between the two systems.
Automation in monday.com follow a general structure - "When something happens, perform an action". - "When something happens" - defines what event or action in monday.com will activate the automation.
- "perform an action" - defines what the automation will do once it's activated.
Automatons follow this general structure: "When , in this Mailchimp audience."
This means that when the trigger happens (column change) and the automation starts to work it will
- Selects the connected account that will be used.
- - This is the trigger that will initiate the automation.
- Determines how monday item fields are mapped to Mailchimp contact fields. More on that here - Mapping fields
- Lists all available audiences for the connected account and defines where the contact will be created.
