TL;DR: When you add the app, a dedicated column called "Outlook Event Link" is automatically added to your board. It stores the link between each monday item and its connected Outlook event. Don't delete it — the integration needs it to sync.
Before you start
The Integration Column is added automatically when you install the app — no manual setup needed
This page explains what the column does and how to fix it if something goes wrong. For setup, see Setting up a Sync
What is the Integration Column
When you add Outlook Calendar Integration Plus to a board, a column called "Outlook Event Link" is automatically created. This column is the primary link between your monday items and Outlook Calendar events.
Once an event and an item (or subitem) are connected and syncing, a clickable link to the Outlook event appears in this column. Click the link to go directly to the connected event in Outlook.
The Integration Column - Outlook Event Link
Why it matters
The integration relies on this column to store connected events. Without it:
Newly created events can't be stored or synced
The integration can't create new events
Existing syncs lose their connection
Don't delete it, rename it, or change its type while a sync is active.
If the column is deleted
If someone accidentally deletes the Integration Column, here's how to recover:
Go to the board's column trash and restore the column
Deleted columns are stored for 30 days — after that they can't be restored
If successfully restored, the column and all its connected events will be back on your board, and the integration will use it going forward
If the column can't be restored (past 30 days):
Manually create a new column with type Link
Name it "Outlook Calendar Integration"
The integration will detect and use the new column going forward
A manually recreated column will not have the previous event links or historical data. Only new syncs going forward will be stored.
If an event link is deleted
If you clear a single event link from the column (not the column itself):
The event itself is not deleted — it still exists in Outlook
Future updates to that item won't sync to the event anymore
If the automation triggers again on the same item, it will create a new event instead of updating the old one
To fix it: go to Outlook Calendar, copy the event URL, and paste it into the cell of the relevant item. The sync will reconnect.
Common gotchas
The column appears as "Outlook Event Link" on your board — it's a Link-type column
You cannot map the Integration Column in field mapping — it's managed automatically by the app
Each item can link to one event at a time through this column
The column works the same way for items and subitems
