Each parent item is a staff member who deals with specific tasks. Subitems are tasks or projects. When a subitem (task) is ready for the next step, change its status to the assigned status label. An automation will move the subitem to another item based on the status label you selected. Once moved, another automation will send a notification to the subitem's owner or assignee.
This solution works on all types of boards, regardless of its column structure. You just need two automations:1. An automation for moving a subitem to another item2. Another automation for notifying the subitem owner/assignee
How to move a subitem from one item to another item— There are a couple of automations within the Subitem Automations that can help you do this. Kindly see the screenshots below. Choose whichever best fits your current flow.
An automation for notifying the subitem's owner or assignee — Assuming that you already have the subitem assigned to a specific person, when one of the above automations "moves" the subitem to its respective Parent Item, an automation triggers to notify the subitem owner/assignee. You can automate this notification using Monday's native solution.NOTE: "Moving" a subitem using the Subitem Automations app triggers the "When a subitem is created" webhook.
